At Turning Point Counseling & Consulting, there are two ways to experience it: come use it in our office with a trained guide, or get a device of your own for home use. We’ll help you with either.
What is Alpha-Stim?
Alpha-Stim is an FDA-cleared medical device that uses cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) by delivering very low levels of electrical current delivered through small clips worn on the ears. The microcurrent is so mild that most people feel little or nothing during use.
It is non-invasive and drug-free, and in the U.S. it is FDA-cleared to:
• Reduce anxiety
• Improve insomnia and sleep quality
• Help manage pain
Alpha-Stim is FDA-cleared in the United States for anxiety, insomnia, and pain. It is used for depression outside the United States but is not FDA-cleared for depression in the U.S.
Two Ways to Get Started with Alpha-Stim
1. In-Office Guided Sessions
Come into our office and use Alpha-Stim with a trained, Alpha-Stim–certified provider who sets up the device, adjusts it to a comfortable level, and stays with you through the session. This is a great fit if you’d like to try Alpha-Stim before committing to a device, prefer a calm setting away from home, or simply like having support while you use it.
• $100 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments
• Self-pay (not billed to insurance)

2. Your Own Device for Home Use
Prefer to use Alpha-Stim on your own schedule? We also serve as a vendor for Alpha-Stim devices and can help you get one of your own to use at home. Because Alpha-Stim is a prescription device in the U.S., we handle the consultation and prescription process with you from start to finish.
