All clinical records, intake paperwork, billing information, and secure messaging are managed through TherapyNotes, a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record and client portal.

  • Clinical information is not collected through this website

  • Email, text, and voicemail are used only for scheduling or administrative purposes unless otherwise consented

  • Third-party vendors used for clinical services are required to meet HIPAA standards

Disclosures Required by Law

We may disclose information as required by law, including situations involving risk of harm, abuse or neglect reporting, court orders, or public health requirements.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your records

  • Request corrections

  • Request restrictions or confidential communications

  • Receive an accounting of disclosures

  • Clients are responsible for maintaining privacy during sessions (private location, secure internet)

  • Clients must provide a current physical location and emergency contact when receiving telehealth services

Telehealth services are not appropriate for emergencies.

Electronic Communication Policy

To protect confidentiality:

  • Clinical communication occurs exclusively through the secure TherapyNotes client portal

  • Email and text messaging are used only for scheduling or administrative purposes

  • These methods are not secure and should not be used to share sensitive or clinical information

Consent is required for any expanded electronic communication.

Fees, Billing, Cancellation & No-Show Policy (Summary)

  • Fees vary by service and provider

  • Insurance coverage is verified as a courtesy but is not guaranteed

  • Clients are responsible for charges not covered by insurance

  • Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a fee, as insurance typically does not reimburse missed appointments

Good Faith Estimates

Self-pay clients may request a Good Faith Estimate in accordance with the No Surprises Act.

Detailed policies are reviewed during intake and available through the client portal.

Coaching & Consulting Disclaimer

Turning Point Counseling & Consulting also provides coaching, consulting, training, and leadership development services.

These services:

  • Are not psychotherapy or mental health treatment

  • Do not involve diagnosis, treatment, or clinical assessment

  • Are not covered by insurance

  • Do not establish a therapist-client relationship

Participants seeking mental health treatment should contact a licensed mental health provider.

Emergency & Crisis Disclaimer

Turning Point Counseling & Consulting does not provide emergency services.

  • This website and contact forms are not monitored 24/7
